How Remote Service Works

Registration without a counter visit

California registration is a statewide system, so a truck based in Riverside or Chula Vista can be registered by a licensed business partner anywhere in the state. We do not have a Southern California office, and we say so up front. What we offer instead of a counter visit is a process built for trucks that cannot spare a day off the road.

Inland Empire

Warehouse fleets and heavy trucks

The Riverside, San Bernardino, and Ontario metro area employed about 40,230 heavy and tractor-trailer truck drivers in May 2025, roughly 1.8 times the national share, according to federal wage data. Warehouse and distribution fleets there run tractors, box trucks, and yard trucks that each carry their own registration clock. Here is what we keep straight for them.

✓

CVRA weight decals for every commercial vehicle at 10,001 lbs and up, issued at the first CVRA registration.

✓

Form 2290 proof for trucks at 55,000 lbs and up, which we check once per registration period.

✓

Clean Truck Check for trucks over 14,000 lbs GVWR; a non-compliant truck can pick up a DMV hold. Eligibility depends on the hold type and your vehicle record, and we confirm exactly what can be posted before you pay.

✓

One account for every unit and expiration date, through our fleet registration.

Border Freight

San Diego, Otay Mesa, and Calexico East

Otay Mesa recorded 990,111 inbound truck crossings in 2025, about 13 percent of all US and Mexico border truck traffic and the most of any California crossing. Calexico East added 446,835. California-based carriers moving that freight north run some of the hardest-working trucks in the state, and the registration side has to keep up.

Two things matter most for those fleets: the declared combined gross weight on REG 4008, which has to cover the heaviest load the tractor pulls, and keeping Clean Truck Check current, since the program applies to vehicles operating on California roads whether or not they are registered here.

Imperial Valley

Seasonal trucks in winter vegetable country

Imperial County reported about $2.49 billion in gross agricultural production in 2024 across roughly 527,000 harvested acres, much of it winter vegetables. Trucks that work the season and then sit are candidates for partial year registration, which covers one to eleven months with prorated weight fees. Trailers are not eligible, and DMV must be notified before the current period expires. Ask us whether it fits your truck before the season starts.

Common Questions

Southern California Truck Registration Questions

Can a Southern California truck be registered by a service in Fremont?

Yes. California registration is statewide, and at Sticker Quicker, a licensed DMV business partner (OL 90656), we process Southern California trucks online and by mail. We complete renewals up to 80,000 lbs online with an instant e-copy, and we ship stickers or plates next day by tracked FedEx.

What do I mail in to register a new truck?

Usually the manufacturer's certificate of origin (MCO or MSO) or the dealer documents, an application (REG 343), the gross weight declaration (REG 4008) for commercial vehicles, and a VIN verification (REG 31) when required. Call us at Sticker Quicker before you mail anything, so we can confirm the exact list for your truck.

Does Clean Truck Check apply to trucks crossing at Otay Mesa?

Yes. Clean Truck Check applies to nearly all diesel and alternative fuel vehicles over 14,000 lbs GVWR operating on California roads, including out-of-state vehicles. A California-registered truck that is not compliant can get a DMV registration hold. Where eligible, we can post the renewal fees at Sticker Quicker while the hold clears.

Can Imperial Valley harvest trucks use partial year registration?

Yes, if they are commercial motor vehicles that do not run all year. Partial year registration covers one to eleven months with prorated weight fees, and you must notify DMV before the current period expires. Trailers are not eligible. Ask us at Sticker Quicker before the season starts and we will tell you whether it fits.

How long does mail-in truck registration take?

Online renewals finish in minutes. For mail-in work, the clock starts when your originals reach us at Sticker Quicker: we review them, file, and ship plates or stickers next day by tracked FedEx once the transaction is complete. Missing documents are the main cause of delay, which is why we check everything before we file.
